Tanzanian artist Tadhi Alawi is a dancer, movement researcher and Choreographer. After honing his skills and gaining recognition in the local dance scene, Tadhi decided to take his career to the next step by founding Nantea Dance Company with a vision to create thought-provoking and visual stunning performances that influence by traditional and other Tanzanian dance styles with contemporary movements, Tadhi quickly gained a following for his unique and captivating movements and choreographies. Tadhi identify himself as a Creative director of Nantea Dance Company, Co-managing director of the Contemporary Dance Night, Nje Ndani the outreach Dance Project and founding member of Umoja Artists in Residency program in Tanzania
In 2024 Tadhi was chosen to be the curator of the Dance Platform Project as a first project which is inviting artists from Sub-Saharan region during the Habana Haba International Dance Festival collaborated with the Goeth-Institute regional Office in Johannesburg. In 2022 Tadhi Alawi won a grant award as one of the 100 professional Artists from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe (non-EU countries) who have received the grant organised by artlink.ch in partnership with the Sudkulturefond as to support his artistic practice.
Apart form that Tadhi has received grants and awards form different Institutes, organisations and festival such as Dare 2 Dance In Public Film Festival as the Best interface in public, FEEL FREE Grant by SwitzEmbassy and Nafasi Art Space, Travel grants from Goethe- Institute in Munich, Mobility grant and Dance Hustle grants from British Council in Tanzania.

Tadhi has qualified as an Alumni and yoga instructor with certification of each three-year-trainings at Africa Yoga Academy in Nairobi Kenya and Muda Africa Dance School in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. ​His vision is to portray different forms of beauty through Arts, as a mean of creating a positive impact and contributing to the development of Tanzanias Arts Scene."
